Civil Society Organizations

The Regional Inclusive Recycling Initiative recognizes the work carried out by civil society organizations. From the start, it has worked to seek alliances and promote projects for the purpose of creating a recycling culture, improve the conditions of Latin American waste pickers and promote efficient Integrated Solid Waste Management schemes.

Over the years, the initiative has consolidated team work and contributed to improving recycling culture and the inclusion of waste pickers. An example of this is the implementation of inclusive recycling projects with the Fundación Casa de la Paz and the Movimiento Nacional de Recicladores (National Recycling Movement), in Chile.

Similarly, it has supported the work carried out by the Associación Nacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza, in Panama; the Asociación Nacional de para Conservación de la Naturaleza, ACEPESA and ALIARSE in Costa Rica; projects in Colombia with the Asociación de Recicladores de Bogotá; inclusive projects with the Fundación para la Participación Ciudadana and Alivio a la Pobreza in Bolivia and with the Mundo Sustentable organization in Mexico; training and recycling awareness projects with the Savia association in Chile, and recycling cooperatives currently working Brazil, among others.

These projects, which link civil society organizations with the IRR, are diverse, however they always seek to improve technical knowledge and expand or implement projects which are being carried out in all participating countries.

Estoy interesada en acercarme a las actividades de IRR en México. Existe una convocatoria ya que soy independiente y he trabajado con pequeños grupos de recicladores informales.

    Gracias
